Owing to increasing difficulty in fielding a 3rd. XI, it has, regrettably,been decided to withdraw from the WWCA with immediate effect.

Under 16s match cancelled

Friday's match at home to Gorseinon has been cancelled.

Next match on Tuesday at home to Skewen. Meet at the Rec at 5.30.

The summer of cricket will explode in into full swing in June when the ICC Champions Trophy comes to the UK. An elite event for the top eight nations in the world, the tournament promises mouth-watering fixtures and the chance to watch the best cricketers in world in action. There are 4 group games and a semi-final being held in Cardiff.

Cardiff's role as one of the host venues for the ICC Champions Trophy raises the stakes for both Glamorgan CCC and Welsh cricket as the success of the tournament will have a direct impact on Glamorgan’s prospects as a venue for hosting future international cricket. This is the first time we've had a truly global event here and with a worldwide following, its bigger than the Ashes. Thousands of people will come to Cardiff and to Wales to enjoy this two week festival of cricket and it will attract millions of TV viewers globally, particularly when India play, so the spotlight will really be on Wales and Glamorgan to deliver well managed and well attended fixtures.

In particular the England v New Zealand match stands out for a number of reasons. Indeed, following the tightly contested series in New Zealand earlier this year this match is an attractive fixture. Not only is this match the final decisive group game and therefore likely to determine whether England or New Zealand progress, the fixture on Sunday 16 June is also Father's Day. With ticket prices starting from only £10 and a family of four able to see the match for £50, it is a great way to enjoy the occasion in style.

The importance and significance this tournament on the international calendar can be gauged from the fact that all the sides have named their most flamboyant, charismatic and well-known cricketers, including Alastair Cook, Stuart Broad, Kevin Pietersen, Brendon McCullum and Daniel Vettori. With the reasonable ticket prices the match promises to be a great way to watch England in action without breaking the bank!

Whether or not you can attend this match, it is important that Glamorgan members support the competition to benefit both the Club financially and therefore keep us a healthy business capable of investing in domestic cricket but also to benefit future welsh cricket supporters and the quality of fixtures we will host in Wales in years to come.

As part of our bid to bring the Ashes back to Wales in 2015 we  wanted to reward the loyal supporters of Glamorgan and cricket clubs in Wales. We are extending this commitment so that if you purchase a ticket for the England v New Zealand game you can also secure the right to buy an Ashes Test ticket in 2015.

Mouth watering fixtures, the best players in the world and an international flavour! The ICC Champions Trophy being held in Cardiff promises to put Wales firmly in the cricketing worlds spotlight this summer and with £5 cashback from every ticket purchased going back to your club make sure you support the tournament and your club!
